Couleurs et Parfums, the title of her last album, perfectly reflects Carole's musical tastes and tendencies. It's an intoxicating mix of music, voix, and warmth. Eleven songs carry you into a warm and colorful universe of pop rhythms, blues, and acoustic emotions with the enchanting voice of Carole Fredericks as your only guide.

The album is announced in Automn 1998 with the track Personne ne Saurait, sung with the group Poetic Lovers. The CD single is placed among the top sellers of the moment. Jean-Jacques Goldman, who found the music of Jacques Veneruso touching and captivating, wanted to write the words, breaking his own rule of not composing while on tour. In the spring of 1999, the album is released, produced by Christophe Battaglia and Jacques Veneruso. The first single is Qu'est ce Qui T'amène (and Personne ne Saurait??), written by Veneruso, who is also author and composer of two original tracks (Le Prix à Payer and Vain.)

Carole records three covers. Firstly, J'ai le Sang Blues by Jacques Veneruso, initially sung by the Québécoise rocker Nanette Workman under the name B.L.U.E.S. Then the duo Kai Djalema, an adaptation in Walof of a Cyndi Lauper song (Time After Time,) sung with her "little sister" Nicole Amovin. And finally, Au Bout de mes Rêves by Jean-Jacques Goldman, the same artist who pushed Carole into the spotlight. The track is interpreted with Yvonne Jones, with whom Carole often shares the stage.

Among the album's other tracks, one may find Tu es là, written by Yvonne Jones, Ecope, written by Michael Jones and Respire, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman (which will be the third single, chosen by the surfers on Carole's website.)
